Arrow Product details

Our pre-sterilised, easy seal bags are designed for the storage of expressed breast milk. Please read the instructions before use and keep for future reference. Each storage bag is sterile until opened. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water before handling. Avoid touching the inside of the breast milk bags.

After expressing, remove a storage bag from the pack and make a note of the time and date of expressing the milk. This will help ensure you use older milk first. Other details such as name or amount of milk can also be recorded. Please note that the graduations on the bags are for guidance only - for accurate measurements please use a sterile feeding bottle that complies with EN14350 or a more accurate measuring device.

Open the bag by carefully tearing or cutting with clean scissors above the zip closure and dispose of the excess plastic carefully. Open the zip closure and pour the freshly expressed breast milk into the bag. Before sealing, expel as much air as possible Storing
Place the bag in the fridge or freezer.

For best results, keep the bag upright until the milk has frozen. Liquids expand when frozen - do not fill beyond the 150ml mark. Breast milk can be stored in the fridge (at 4 C or lower) for up to 5 days, in the ice compartment of the fridge for up to 2 weeks and in the deep freeze for up to 6 months.

Thawing Breast milk should always be defrosted in the fridge overnight, however if time is short, defrost by placing in warm (not hot) water. If you wish to heat up the milk, do this after it has thawed.
NEVER THAW BREAST MILK IN A MICROWAVE OVEN OR BOILING WATER.

If the breast milk has separated, shake the bag gently. Open the seal or cut/tear along the line and pour into a sterile feeding bottle. Use defrosted milk straight away and don't refreeze once it's thawed.
