What is Practice Plus?
Practice Plus is a free NHS GP service that makes it easier, quicker and more convenient for you to see or speak to a GP. Practice Plus is suitable for everyone regardless of your health or how often you need advice or treatment. It’s currently available in two locations in central Brighton, including the Boots store on North Street.
Benefits of using Practice Plus
Get straight through
There’s no 8am telephone queues. Practice Plus’ dedicated team aim to answer calls within 30 seconds so you can phone whenever is most convenient for you. The service is open 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.
Appointments within 48 hours
You’ll get a telephone or face-to-face GP appointment within 48 hours, often the very same day. You can also book a follow-up appointment ahead of time for when it suits you. To help speed up your diagnosis, Practice Plus also offer a wide range of NHS tests which can be done in your convenient Practice Plus surgery before you see your doctor.
More ways to access care
From face-to-face or telephone appointments to personalised advice, with Practice Plus you always have a convenient choice of where to see or speak with your GP. The service also offers longer opening hours and weekend availability.
Your personal online health hub
Confidential and secure, your online health hub is your new gateway to all Practice Plus’ healthcare services and appointment booking. You can also check your symptoms if you feel unwell and access wellbeing advice suited to your needs.
Where are Practice Plus surgeries located?
There are currently two Practice Plus surgeries in Brighton. One is located on the first floor in the Boots store at 129 North Street, Brighton, BN1 2BE. A branch surgery is also located within 10 minutes walk on 84-87 Queens Road, BN1 3XE. Both sites are easily accessible by public transport in Brighton, with all the main bus routes in and around the city centre.
