Discover quick, simple ways of treating yourself with the care you deserve – after all, a relaxed mum makes for a relaxed baby!

Becoming a new mum can be challenging, so it’s important that you take time for you. Our top tips will help you look after yourself, while navigating through the early stages of motherhood.

Soothe your skin

A spontaneous spa day may be out of the question right now, so run a hot, bubbly bath while your little one has a nap, pop on a face mask and take 10 minutes to relax. If you have developed unwanted stretch marks, look for a specially-designed stretch mark oil to help leave your skin softer and more supple.

Maintain your immune system

Lack of sleep can leave you feeling tired and depleted. Ensure to feed your body well by eating a varied diet and consider taking a multivitamin supplement with vitamin C to help support your immune system.

Treat your feet

Give your toes a little attention with some hand and foot cream, a nail file, buffer and your favourite polish. Who said you need to pay for a pedicure to put your best foot forward?

Get outside

Whether it’s a walk around the block or a trip to your local park, spending some time outside with your baby can improve your wellbeing. Do your best to get out of the house for some fresh air every day, if you can.

Look & feel good

Believe it or not, brushing your hair or popping on your fave lippy can go a long way. Remember, there’s nothing wrong with taking a little extra time to get ready in the morning. While we all love a day spent in our pyjamas every now and then, making an effort with our appearance can be a real mood booster.

...and sleep

A good night’s sleep is just as important for you as it is for your baby. Try to sleep when they sleep, or go to sleep as early as possible so you wake up refreshed. Spray your pillow with a natural lavender scent to help you drift off to the land of nod.
