Switch to a Boots Pharmacy

How can Boots help with my prescription?

Choosing or nominating a pharmacy works differently depending on which country you live in. Scroll down to find prescription service details relating to the country in which you require information.

How do I nominate or switch to a Boots pharmacy in England?

The NHS Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) allows most GPs in England to send prescriptions electronically to a nominated pharmacy of your choice. With EPS, there's no paper prescription, so you won't have to worry about keeping track of bits of paper.

Step 1: Choose which store you would like your prescription sent to

Your chosen pharmacy may be closest to your home or work, or you can check out if there are any midnight pharmacies or pharmacies with extended opening hours. Just choose a pharmacy that is most convenient for you.

Step 2: Contact Boots or your GP surgery to nominate your selected pharmacy

Tell the Boots pharmacy team that you'd like your prescriptions sent to your requested pharmacy (you can do this at any time, with or without a prescription), or let your GP surgery know which Boots pharmacy you'd like your prescriptions sent to.

Step 3: Whether it’s a one-off or a repeat prescription, it will be sent straight to Boots

Your prescription will be electronically sent to your chosen Boots pharmacy. We can let you know when it's ready to collect with our free text messaging service, or have it delivered using our Prescription Delivery Service

If you still receive paper prescriptions from your GP, simply continue to take these to any Boots pharmacy.

How do I nominate or switch to a Boots Pharmacy in Northern Ireland & Scotland?

The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) does not exist in Northern Ireland and Scotland, but don't worry other options are available.
