It’s available in selected Boots pharmacies and is suitable for adolescents and adults aged 12 to 45 years*.
The service uses the Gardasil 9 vaccine, which helps protect against nine types of Human Papillomavirus (HPV).

How long will each appointment take?
Each appointment will take around 20 minutes.
**At your first appointment, the healthcare professional will advise you of the recommended dose schedule for your age and circumstances.
Eight in ten people will get an HPV infection at some point in their lives†. It’s easy to catch and has no symptoms, so you may not know if you have it. The risk of becoming infected increases with the number of sexual partners and is more likely if you started having sex at a younger age.

The Boots HPV Vaccination Service is a non-NHS service for adolescents and adults aged 12 to 45 at the time of the first dose*. A complete course consists of either one, two, or three doses:
You can choose to have more than the recommended number of doses for your age if you prefer, up to a maximum of three doses. Please discuss this with the healthcare professional during your first appointment.

Each vaccination will be given in the upper arm so it’s helpful to wear short sleeves or loose sleeves that can be rolled up.

Immunisation against HPV is provided as part of the NHS childhood vaccination programme and is routinely offered to adolescents aged 12 to 13††. If you or your child missed the vaccination in school or have come to the UK from overseas and are registered with a GP practice, you can access the free vaccination via the NHS up until your 25th birthday¶.
Men who have sex with men (MSM) are also eligible to be vaccinated for free on the NHS at a sexual health or HIV clinic, up to and including 45 years of age††.
Transgender people are eligible if their risk of getting HPV is similar to that of MSM who are eligible for the HPV vaccines. If trans men have previously completed a course of HPV vaccination as part of the school vaccination programme, no further doses are needed††.
