Frequently asked questions
We specialise in the provision of food intolerance, allergy, and home health testing. Due to growing demand, our food sensitivity and allergy testing services are now also available in the US. With more than 40 years of experience, our home-to-laboratory testing kits are a simple and convenient way to better understand your body. Our tests are available to anyone who wants to check for food intolerances, allergies, vitamin levels, cholesterol, liver function, hormone levels, and more - all from the comfort of your home.
Once you’ve placed your order, we will send you a test kit containing everything you need to supply us with a small blood sample. This involves a simple prick of the finger with a small, sterilised lancet, which you can carry out in the comfort of your own home. You then post this sample to our laboratory in the pre-paid envelope provided and we’ll undertake the testing and provide you the results online.
We pride ourselves on the ultimate control we have on the accuracy and reproducibility of our food intolerance test results; manufacturing, testing and quality controlling our food-specific IgG enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA). With over half a million tests provided, we have collated efficacy data over that time and received thousands of positive reviews from customers whose lives have benefited from taking these tests.
IgG is a type of antibody (immune response) which can be formed when you react to certain foods. A simple blood test is used to measure food-specific IgG antibodies to identify foods to which you may be sensitive. There are different types of food-specific IgG antibodies that can be measured: IgG1, IgG2, IgG3 and IgG4. YorkTest measures all 4 subtypes of food-specific IgG which is why we describe our IgG testing as food-specific IgG (1-4). We cover all bases to give you your individual food fingerprint. Our tests can be repeated over time to track changes and monitor the impact of any lifestyle changes you made based on your initial results.
We offer a range of home-to-laboratory health tests – from an essential health MOT with our Essential Health Check, you can also monitor specific aspects of your health with our Stress (Cortisol) Test, Female Hormone Test, Female Fertility Test, Menopause Test, Male Hormone Test, Thyroid Test, Liver Function Test, Cholesterol Test, Inflammation (CRP) Test and Vitamin D Test. Visit our product page to find out more about our range of health tests.
