Flea & tick treatment & prevention
When unwanted visitors like fleas and ticks decide to camp out on your pet, it’s important to jump on the problem straight away.
Not only can fleas cause itching and discomfort when they bite your pets, they could result in other issues including allergic reactions and blood loss. Fleas can live for a long time and lay eggs around the home which can hatch into more fleas, so it’s recommended to find a suitable flea treatment for the home as well as your pet.
Ticks can drop onto your pet’s fur when they’re out and about, especially if they spend time in woodland or long grass. These small spider-like creatures can carry a bacterial infection called Lyme disease which can be passed onto dogs, and sometimes cats, if bitten by an infected tick. Humans can be bitten by ticks brought in by pets and infected, too. Our article on Lyme disease covers more information on what to do if you spot a tick on yourself or experience symptoms of the disease.
It’s important to check your pets regularly for ticks and get rid of them straight away with a tick removal tool for pets, which you can get at the vets or a pet shop.
To help prevent and treat fleas and ticks in pets, consider our range of FRONTLINE PLUS® spot-on treatments available for both cats and dogs. (Make sure never to use a cat treatment on a dog or vice versa as this can be harmful. It's also important to know the weight of your pet in order to select a suitable product).

For optimal protection, apply at the base of your cat’s neck in one spot every four weeks.
Supplements for dogs & cats
It goes without saying that your pets need a healthy and balanced diet, just like we do! Your vet can advise on the best dog or cat food to choose for your pet’s nutritional needs, and you should also make sure they’re regularly drinking water to keep them happy and hydrated.
If you feel like your pet would benefit from some extra nutritional support, you could consider a pet supplement under the supervision of your vet.*
